Nation’s Largest and Most Used Charity Evaluator Gives Institute 100 out of 100
SAN DIEGO (September 15, 2020) – The Institute of Reproductive Grief Care (formerly Life Perspectives,®) the global leader in education, research, expertise and support after reproductive loss including miscarriage and abortion, without religious or political affiliation, today announced its perfect score rating from the popular and independent nonprofit evaluator Charity Navigator.
Less than one percent of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigator have earned perfect scores.
“The exceptional charities on this list execute their missions in a fiscally responsible way while adhering to good governance and other best practices,” Charity Navigator explains on their “Charities with Perfect Scores” webpage. “Each has earned perfect scores for its Financial Health and its Accountability & Transparency. Those two scores then translate into a perfect 100 point overall score. Less than one percent of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigator have earned perfect scores.”
“We applaud these charities for exceeding industry standards and outperforming other organizations performing similar work,” it adds.
“We are thrilled to receive a perfect score from Charity Navigator,” said Michaelene Fredenburg, President and CEO of the Institute. “This validates to our supporters that they can trust our commitment to good governance and financial accountability. We also hope that this perfect score will introduce our work to new supporters who can help us advance our mission to help those who need solace and comfort after reproductive loss like miscarriage and abortion.”

About Charity Navigator
Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator has become the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. In their quest to help donors, their team of professional analysts examined tens of thousands of non-profit financial documents and used this knowledge to develop an unbiased, objective, numbers-based rating system to assess America’s charities.
Specifically, Charity Navigator’s rating system examines two broad areas of a charity’s performance; their Financial Health and their Accountability & Transparency. Ratings show givers how efficiently we believe a charity will use their support today, how well it has sustained its programs and services over time and their level of commitment to good governance, best practices and openness with information. They provide these ratings so that charitable givers and social investors can make intelligent giving decisions, and so that the nonprofit sector can improve its performance.
Last year alone, CharityNaviagtor.org had more than eleven million visits by donors who used the site. They’ve received praise from TIME Magazine, Forbes, Reader’s Digest, PC World, BusinessWeek, and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine. Charity Navigator is known for its expert analysis and commentary on the charitable sector, and has appeared on most CNN programs and each of the network morning shows–NBC’s The Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America, and CBS’s The Early Show. They have also appeared on FOX News, Fox Business News, CNBC, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, The Newshour with Jim Lehrer, Nightline, and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, among others, and served as contributors to National Public Radio programs Morning Edition and All Things Considered. They have been profiled in Fast Company magazine, Contribute, CFO Magazine, and The Washington Post, and quoted in nearly every major American newspaper or weekly magazine. They have published editorials and articles on charity accountability, the role of government regulation in the charitable sector, fund-raising ethics, and non-profit leadership in such newspapers as The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and The Los Angeles Times. Charity Navigator does not knowingly solicit contributions from charities it evaluates.
